Admission process for semester I will
commence after the declaration of results for Class XII Examination by J&K Board
of School Examination (Jammu Division). The admission schedule containing
detailed information is published in the local newspapers every year much
earlier than the start of the admission.
Due to prevailing COVID19
pandemic, the
college has decided to opt for online application
and admission process. For applying online the students need to visit college
website “www.gdckathua.com”
and click the link provided for the online
admission.
Student will be redirected to
the admission page where they will find the instructions for online applications
and link to
Student sign up and Student Login.
A student who is visiting the site for first time has to first register by
signing up and filling the relevant information. Students need to make sure that
all the information they are providing is correct. Falsified information may
lead to cancellation of his/her admission at any step at which the discrepance
is detected.
Students need to upload their recent
passport size photograph and signature in jpg format. Size of the photo and
signature file for upload should not exceed 50kb.
After filling the relevant
information and uploading the photo and signature files, student need to press
SUBMIT tab at the bottom of the online registration form. The student will be
redirected back to the student signup / login page where he/she can now login to
proceed further for application process. The username of the student will be XII
class roll no. filled by him/her in registration form and password will be date
of birth in mm/dd/yyyy format. For example if XII class roll no of a student is
123456 and date of birth is 14/03/2020 then his username will be 123456 and
password will be 14/03/2020.
After successful login the student will be
redirected to STUDENT DASHBOARD page where he/she can edit his
profile/information submitted in registration form to correct any mistake.
Next Step is FILL APPLICATION FORM
wherein complete information filled up by student in the registration form will
be displayed along with the option to select preferences. Here student need to
select three options in order of his/her preference.
Due to ceiling on the intake
capacity, students are advised in their own interest to apply for three subject
combinations in order of preference.
Student need to be careful in
selecting the preferences as after the application is submitted the preferences
will not be changed.
Student has to upload photo of the
marks sheet (150kb size) of the Higher Secondary Part-II or other equivalent
examination and photo of category certificate ( 150kb size) as per S.R.O 126 of
1994 .
On receipt of applications, selection
lists shall be drawn on the basis of merit (percentage marks obtained in class
12th).
Admission to various subject
combinations available in the College is governed by merit only and the cut off
percentage for each combination varies.
Students belonging to Reserved
Categories as listed in SRO-126 dated 28.06.1994 shall get additional weightage
of 5% marks at the time of preparation of merit-cum-select list. On the date of
display of the first merit list, the students will be able to check which
subject combination have they been allotted by logging in using their username
and password and clicking on SUBJECT ALLOTTED.
In next step students will click
on FILL ADMISSION FORM where they will have to upload the requisite documents
files (not more that 200kb of file size for each document). After submission of
this admission form, a J&K Bank Challan will be generated showing the Fee to be
deposited in J&K Bank. The students have to Print this Challan and visit their
nearby J&K Bank Branch and submit the fee there. The Bank will return Student
Copy and College Copy of the Challan after proper stamping. Students need to
make sure that the all the copies of challan are properly stamped and date of
fee submission clearly written on it.
In next step the students have to
upload the College Copy of Challan by again logging in to the admission website
and by clicking on UPLOAD CHALLAN and following instructions therein. After
submission the student will be informed about his/her admission on the STUDENT
DASHBOARD after verifying the documents uploaded by him/her and confirming the
receipt of admission fee.
The students whose names appear in
the first and subsequent merit lists have to take admission in subjects
combination allotted to him/her and deposit the requisite fee. Students who do
not deposit the requisite fee within the time frame notified in each merit list
will forfeit the right to admission and the seats will be offered to other
eligible students falling next in the merit list.
A student who is admitted to the
College and completes the minimum required attendance but either fails or does
not appear in the ensuing University examination will not be considered for
admission to the same class again.
The college reserves the rights to
make any amendment in admission rules except for those governed by University of
Jammu. The Principal reserves the right to accept or reject any application form
for admission without assigning any reason.
